Are You Still Looking For Your "Gentleman" ?

Hey Readers!

We’re back with a new post! Did you miss us? We know you did! :P

So here it goes.

If you tag somebody as a “Gentleman” on the basis of his desire for intimacy without an intention of marriage, we have bad news for you. Stop reading; stop right here because what is going to follow is a complete bashing session of people like you. We have come across so many of the “Mai toh shaadi se pehle haath ni lagane dungi” types. Like what century are you exactly living in?

We hear girls say “ekdum gentleman-sa hoga mera boyfriend”, what do you even mean by that? How does his desire to get intimate make him any less of a gentleman? Please be kind enough to name the person who makes this definition of the ‘Gentleman’.

And there are girls who have some entirely ridiculous parameters to call a guy a ‘Gentleman’. A guy who pays the bill at the end of a date might not be the ‘Gentleman’ you are so eager to find. Of course holding doors, chairs, carrying shopping bags is sweet & considerate. But all this may not necessarily mean your guy is a gentleman! And I could pretty much do all this on my own too.

Call a guy a Gentleman when he respects your opinion, tries his best to understand you and your situation, embraces your imperfections and flaws, and does not live with the motive of manipulating you and your individuality, and not because he agrees not to kiss you before marriage.

And we are in no way supporting guys or should we say assholes that try to push their girl too far and threaten to leave them if they do not allow them to get physical. We are not suggesting that you should rush into intimacy and physical relationships, but spare us the “shaadi” bullshit for heavens’ sake! Go ahead and judge him if he tries to force you into things against your own wishes.

All we are suggesting is let your relationship grow the way it is supposed to be, let it come to you naturally, move to the next level when you both are ready for it and most importantly are comfortable with it.

To all the guys reading the blog, thank us later!

And this is all for now, enough of the relationship advice!

We are back and we are really sorry... And also we're going to disappear again... yeah so we are back! :D

Just when you thought we were dead or something, here we are with an all new post. :D
So yes, we eloped for quite a considerable time and we owe an apology & explanation for that.
But isn't it obvious? Class 12? Preboards?
It really, REALLY sucks man. :/
Writing is like, the love of our lives and you have no idea how sorry we have been for abandoning the blog like this.
But since we are here again lets shift our focus to better and positive things.
First of all A Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to all our readers. :)
And as we said we're going to disappear yet again (boards aarrgghh! >_<) we're dedicating this last post to tips for the exam time and new year, resolutions you may call them, but resolutions are meant to be broken, and these are things we suggest you should really follow.
Go on, read on and enjoy :D

1. Even if I'm stressed/depressed at least I'm well dressed.
This one doesn't JUST preach the importance of looking good.
Okay it does, but just a tiny bit.
Doesn't it cheer your mood up if you're looking presentable/good?
Try it if you haven't yet. It does the trick.
The point here is not messing yourself up because of messed up emotions or a messed up situation you're stuck in. You really think looking like shit is going to help you after a break up or while you're busy studying? No my friend, it is only going to ruin things further.
Don't ever stop pampering yourself.
Never stop caring about yourself.
No matter how you feel. Get up, dress up, and never ever give up.
Yes but obviously don't waste the time you should be spending studying. :P

2. Stop freaking out on what others say!
Yes just stop! Be it syllabus or anything else.
For instance, asking about others progress regarding exam preparations and then panicking or sometimes feeling good if you're ahead.
Most of them are lying, for what reasons is something beyond human understanding, and it is seriously NOT going to help you.
Or lets say telling the world about whats going on in your relationship and comparing. That's the worst thing you could do to yourself and your partner.
Share things with one or two of your close buddies and there too not every bit of it.
Communicate a bit more with your partner instead.
That's where you should be discussing about your relationship.
The gist of it is, start giving a little less thought to what others have to say and follow your own mind a bit more.

3. Confidence is the key!
Okay okay, we are not going to preach on and on about how self confidence is important.
Then maybe, yes we are going to do it just a bit.
Look, when we are made to face difficult situations in life ,situations which test our patience ,situations which are at times beyond our control, we lose our confidence, we stop believing in ourselves.
Even when people really close to us (mostly Parents) have full faith in us we ourselves start underestimating our capabilities.
If you don't believe in yourself, then nobody else will, trust us this is first hand experience we are offering you.
Always be confident, wear a smile no matter how wrecked up your life is, always keep your head up.
Worst case scenario, things will not turn out the way you'd like them to, you would come out of it all with all your dignity intact and probably a very important lesson learnt,a lesson only failures can teach you.

4. Life goes on.
Never cease to believe in yourself, don't ever give up on yourself, come what may.
This is basically the summary of all of the above.
Whatever it is that happens, whatever others say, you have somebody to look forward to/share things with or not, just remember that life goes on and don't ever forget the value of this life.
Surround yourself with positive people and things. Talk to somebody you can pour your heart to. Don't torture yourself with sad songs. Have loads of ice creams/ chocolates. Do whatever that makes you super happy and you're great to go.

We guess that's enough gyaan for now.
We hope this actually helps somebody.
See you in April now.

Diwali ke Side Effects!

We're really really sorry for not posting last week, but hey one of us turned 18, and we weren't really over with the hangover! I mean C'mon we're allowed that much concession. (Just kidding, we're really boring and lazy and thus did nothing special but were still tired. ;_; )
Avni : But seriously all Tanvi wrote last week was "Thankyou (s)".

Anyways, A Very Happy Diwali to all of you, hope you all had a great one, and with that comes our new post! :D The inspiration to which comes obviously from all those houses we were dragged to for the much hyped about "Diwali Gifting". -_-
The whole Diwali gifting thing used to be great fun as part of the whole Diwali chaos as long as were treated to statements like "kitna lamba/lambi ho gya/gyi hai" and kaju katlis and chocolates. But now the only conversation starter is "Aajkal kya kar rahe ho beta ?" followed by the dreaded question "Aage ka kya plan hai ?" And trust us the safest reply to this is "Uncle/Aunty abhi decide nahi kiya" because the moment you brief them about your plan that was already derived after a lot of brainstorming and confusion, these people will start bombarding you with their expert advice about your future, which will do nothing more than confuse and frustrate you further.
We don't see any sane reason as to why this uncle/aunty who we barely meet once in two years is so interested in our future? How about we keep questioning about your salary the instant we meet ? And even if you don't have anything else to talk about and the topic is going to be about our prospective career, why can't you be satisfied by our answer and shift your focus ? Why are you so hellbent on convincing us to choose the option you suggest ? Like does somebody pay these people for all of this ? :/

Avni : The worst piece of advice I recently got was "Beta height lambi hai, army join karlo". Kyu karlu ? Aapse pucha kisi ne ?
Tanvi : Yeah, what if she wanted to be a model ? :P Stop poking your nose into the matter.

And we've seen its always these faraway relatives, that we have absolutely no memory of but they somehow claim to know us from the day we were born, who are so curious about our plans as if their life depends on it. We have never seen people really close to us, bother us so much about the issue. All they wish is to see us happy and successful in life.

Now for the relatives that keep advising you to eat well and kill all your self control and efforts at the gym by statements like  "kitni/kitna kamzor ho gyi/gya hai" "dhang se khaya kar" "gym jaane ki kya zarurat hai?"
And if you're on the healthier side they start giving you diet plans. Hypocrites you see, just not satisfied with anything, all they need is something to gossip about.

Ohh and god save you if you are of the suitable age and the conversation happens to shift to your marriage. The first question that pops up is "Nazar mein koi hai ?" and if the answer happens to be negative, they automatically take up the job of your matchmaker and flood your already tensed parents with rishtas of their "Amreeka/Canneda wali bua ka ladka/ladki".
Also if you're married, even if it was just yesterday, brace yourself up for constant questions about "The Good News".
Even if you're not the marriageable age and a girl, these vellas will still manage to leave you red faced by making statements like "parya dhan hai yeh toh .. chale hi jaana hai ek din" and in our minds we're like "Uncleji aapne chale jaana hai uparwale ke paas, aur maine jail, aapke murder case mein!"

With that as the Diwali season drifts to an end, we look forward to meeting more such lovely relatives in the forthcoming wedding season!

That's all for now.

P.S.- Any resemblance to any real life event is purely intentional and if you're one of our relatives and have any urge to have a career counselling session with us, this one WAS for you. :)

Shades of Women People Don't Seem to Acknowledge -_-

Women are the most misunderstood species on earth. There are just so many stereotypes around women formed by men who had exactly no clue about the female psyche and what goes inside a girl’s head. And maybe this guy never got his way with women. Sweet Revenge!
And out of a really long list, one of our personal favorites is the tag ‘Drama Queen’. Like seriously ?  -_-
Yes, we understand there are girls who act like they are a Meena Kumari’s kin, but generalizing this tag isn't justice to the rest of us. And we for a fact seem to know many such ‘Kings’ instead of ‘Queens’. This overreacting and drama and crap are NOT just a girl thing. Kindly get that inside your head!
This myth has been developed keeping in mind the people who are just madly in love with limelight, the people who like to hog attention whenever & however they can and not for people like us who try to avoid conversation or even eye contact under all circumstances. :P

And that shitloads of knowledge people seem to possess about girls and periods. PMS is another seriously misunderstood concept. Yes, we hate our periods, we are uncomfortable, and we get sad, mad, curious, anxious and a lot many other things. But we just don’t magically turn into irritated beasts, overreacting on anything and everything. We still have our minds in the right place, you know. Instead of getting mad during our periods, we could get much more irritated when a certain behavior of ours is termed as PMS. -_- You do not posses the right to judge us unless you have blood oozing out of your genitals too. -_-
We've all read jokes on how the only parameter a guy has to fulfill is to be rich. What if this rich guy looks like this ?
Datta Phuge wearing solid gold shirt

FYI, we’re not trying to convey that even the LOOKS are the only parameter. Even if the guy looks like Tom Cruise, has the body of Hrithik Roshan, he could still be a high-headed and insensitive snob. And all that glitter might vanish as soon as he opens his mouth. You get the drift, right?

Girls are not just gold-diggers or after looks, what we look for in a man is Character & Substance.
Ok, let’s be practical, appearance matters too, but its way down on our checklist for Mr. Right. We’d any day go for a guy who respects us and our individuality rather than a guy who’ll shower us with gifts and treat us like dirt. Similarly, we’d prefer a guy who has average looks but is witty and intelligent over a really hot guy who throws at us statements like, “oh, I lifted really heavy things in the gym today!!”.  Well, what you should have lifted is a book, mister.

That being said, let’s make it very clear, we don’t go all “Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..” on everything. Not all of us are as cheesy & lovey-dovey as people think. There’s a huge difference between cute and creepily cheesy.

And EMOTIONS, how can we forget them. Yes, we’re emotional but we are definitely not THAT much into feelings as we are shown to be. It might come as a shock for some of the guys reading this, but we do run away from our feelings too. Yes. We’re over thinkers but we live with the fear of being judged the moment we give in to our feelings.

The whole idea here is to throw some light on the shades of women that people don’t seem to acknowledge (Read: The title, you genius!). People don’t seem to look beyond the image which has been embedded in their minds. We are not saying that all girls are exactly like what we described here, but the point we’re trying to get across is that not all girls are the way the jokes on social networking sites describe them to be. These jokes are merely the brain child of forever alone guys, who never had much interaction with the other gender other than his mother. :P

Someday we might have a post about myths surrounding guys, because we truly believe in equality. Do write to us the points you think we missed and your feedback.

Annoying Ways People Type.

Just so you know, this not an extension to our first post. This has nothing to do with grammar, tenses or speaking skills.
What follows is a list of annoying people/ things over the internet.

Lets begin with clearing this very famous misconception that a " :)" face after EVERYFUCKINGTHING makes it polite. Sorry bro, it does not. It usually gives us an impression that you're a lunatic.
Tanvi : Seriously if someone keeps texting me with a " :) " face at the end of everything, it will do nothing but creep me out. I used to know someone ( and I'm glad I used to know him) who'd be like

Him : Hi! :)
Me : Hey :)
Him : How are you? :)
Me : Fine. Wbu ?
Him : Good, so whatsup? :)
Me (in my mind) : Your time baby, its over. -.-

This is how we imagine you during the whole conversation.

Trust us having a conversation like that is not polite. Its scary. Very scary.
To make things clearer, " You're a slut. :) " Now does that seem polite to you?

Avni : Okay yes the use of emoticons is very important, but to an extent, high time people register that in their heads.
For instance I know a person who does not believe in using any smileys at all in a not-so-serious conversation. When I receive a text with no emoticons, my mind automatically assumes that there is something grave being discussed here or you are suffering from facial paralysis  and thus have no emotions to spare.
When we converse with somebody over the internet or text messages, in our heads we imagine a real conversation in person, and when we get a emoticon-less text, this is you in our head.

And the post stays incomplete without the mention of the infamous "K".
We wonder how do people's conscience allow them to reply with a "k" to paragraphs full of messages.
I mean I spent so long to type a message and you have the audacity to reply me with a "K.' ? That too with a period at the end of it ? *Raised eyebrow*. Friendship over. You killed it right there with your own fingers.
And mind you "k"  "k." "k!"  "K"  "K." K!" "kkkk..." all signify different levels of rudeness and stupidity.

Oh and how can we forget all those cool people "wHo tYp3 LyK D!s".
Our faith in humanity plummets a bit every time we see something like "Mah lyf maah ruhlzzz!" Or "Aai luv yehw." People like these deserve a round of applause. On their cheeks.
The whole idea of abbreviations is to make words shorter. There's absolutely no problem in writing "you" as "u" but "you" as "yew", "my" as "mah" or "Nice" as "nahice" will NOT make you look cool. You've been mislead.
There's also this insane species of people who think CAPS LOCK is irreversible or they fell in love with and haven't been able to come out of it at all. -_-
HAVE YOU TOTALLY LOST IT ? ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO TYPE LIKE THIS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE ?
It feels like someone's shouting at us in the face. Grow up people.

And there are a lot more things that can be included here. Write in to us telling us about things you find annoying or things you'd like us to post about.

A Toast To Not-So-Silent Sulkers.

You meet new people and sometimes these new people we are talking about turn out to be real pessimists and negative about anything & everything on the face of earth. They seem to suck the happiness out of your life too. And from our first-hand experience, we advise you to stay away from such people as soon as you feel all the positivity draining out from you. To be very clear we do not mean to offend people who are going through a really bad time in their lives, instead we feel that they need all the support from their friends and family.
But the people we loath, are the ones who tend to spread negativity whenever & wherever they go. We understand life has been hard for you, but so has it been for the rest of us. And there are people who fight every day with a smile on their faces and mind you, these struggles are sometimes way bigger than your petty issues. Your need for sympathy is justified but there is just no plausible justification for you sulking and cribbing 24x7. You don’t need to punish the whole world just because you are going through a rough patch. Here we’d like to add that there is a very thin line between sharing your problems and venting out your frustration with the people you are very close to AND cribbing about every figment of your God forsaken existence to anybody & everybody.
We shudder thinking about the plight of people who have such people as their boyfriends or girlfriends. Even worse if you end up marrying them. Having a life partner like this limits your thought process to thinking of ways to cheer your spouse up and that too to no end. And this this ultimately starts to eat up the relationship because all your time is spent in wondering what you did wrong to land the other person in such a hideous mood.
Even as friends, we initially sympathize with the person, interpreting their behavior as just a phase that will ultimately pass. But later do we get to know that this habit of sulking is a dominant feature of their personality & general behavior. And the moment you figure this out you need to start drawing away, because these people will turn out to be leeches gnawing your mind, sucking your happiness and peace of mind out.
If you had somebody in your mind while reading this post, run as far away as you possibly can from this person, and if not then either you are extremely lucky or maybe this post is about you and in that case our advice for you is to get professional help ASAP! ;)

An ego booster for those who tolerate US! ;)

Let us first observe a minute of silence for those of us who could not survive their exams.

And for those who did, we are back with a new post! :D
Okay so this one, as the title suggests, is about those sweethearts in our lives that stick to us and we stick to them like leeches. Highlighting the place and importance of best friends in our lives, to be precise. :P
Go grab him/her and enjoy reading on. ;)
You must have heard/read "Best friends are the siblings God forgot to gave us." Put a bit of a thought into it and we would say, thanks heavens our best friends are NOT our siblings, because siblings are just a pain in the ass. Yeah, you wish you lived with your best friend, but those of us who do have siblings would definitely cringe on the idea of best friends being our siblings. Don't worry this is not going to turn into a sibling bashing session, although we could do it with all our hearts, but lets save that for another day or lets say another post maybe. ;P
Coming back to best friends, these are those angels sent on earth to keep you sane. And grounded. And crazy. And happy. And to tolerate you. And your pointless dramas. And mood swings. And attitude. And Ishtupidity.
You know, that one guy/girl friend you can spend hours with. Laughing, gossiping, talking sense, non-sense, not talking, and neither of you gets bored, the only thing that matters is their company. People you don't have to make efforts with, such in-compulsive and fulfilling relationship you share with them. This person knows how to make you smile even while your siting there, crying rivers.
This person is like that basket full of chocolates. Like imagine a whole lot of them, so many that they could last for a lifetime. Or imagine video games for boys. Or anything else you love THAT much. You obviously get the drift.

And we're not going to stuff any crap about forgetting/ignoring such people, because that's really not an option here. We are talking about that one person you love with all your heart and its literally impossible for your mind to skip them.
You are because your best friend is.
No life event is complete without you narrating the whole story to your best friend. This person is so well versed with even those moments of your life that they haven't spent with you. It almost feels like they were by your side the whole time. And you don't even need to let that person know your reactions or emotions in any situation. H/she is called your best friend for a reason. H/she knows what goes up there in your head in every situation and scenario.

The friendship you share with your best friend is the most selfless kind of friendship you ever have. Its not like one of you handles/ tolerates the other person's tantrums/ rudeness because you're the "goody goody" friend or you value the relationship that much. I mean yes you obviously value the relationship but the fact that you understand the person that much is what makes it work. You don't blindly tolerate bullshit from them for the sake of the relationship, its just that you can anticipate their state of mind in almost every situation, this makes you stay by their side.
You simply refuse to leave them all by themselves.
And well of course, these people rarely treat you to such torturous behavior, but when they do, you have all the reasons in the world to stay calm and console them And Also even if in the deepest of your hearts you know that the other person will stick by you in your times of need, this assumption is not what drives your mind while you decide to stand by that person.

And to be clear, through this post we do not mean to outcast your better halves. You need both, friendship and love, to complete you. Both of them hold equally special places in your heart. You can't do without either of them. Choosing between them is like choosing between your left and right hand. (Yeah the reference could not get any more bland, but we couldn't come up with anything better. ;_; )
And the biggest perk is when your best friend turns out to be the love of your life. ;)

And we could go on and on about these sweet little souls. Haan haan these souls are more devil than sweet, but you still love them and will continue to do so forever.

So that's all for know!
This is the soul sisters signing off.
Hope you enjoyed.
New posts every Friday! :)
Keep reading, keep smiling. :)
